Doctor Argyrios Petras

BCAM Basque Center for Applied Mathematics, Bilbao (Spain)

Dr. Argyrios Petras received his BSc in Applied Mathematics and Physical Sciences from the National Technical University of Athens, Greece in 2012. He has been awarded his PhD in Applied Mathematics and Scientific Computing in Simon Fraser University, Canada in 2016 under the supervision of Prof. Steven Ruuth. He is currently a Postdoctoral Fellow in the group of Mathematical Modelling in Biosciences in the Basque Center for Applied Mathematics (BCAM), under the supervision of Dr. Luca Gerardo-Giorda. His research interests focus on the development of an accurate mathematical model for the catheter radiofrequency ablation for cardiac arrhythmias and the development of numerical methods for the solution of partial differential equations on moving surfaces.
