Maria Åberg is a specialist physician in primary care at Askim Health Centre in Gothenburg, Sweden and an associated Professor at Department of Public Health and Community Medicine at the Sahlgrenska Academy, Gothenburg University. Maria Åberg is the chair of the steering committee for Physical Fitness and Brain - Epidemiological studies (PHYSBE), which is a multidisciplinary umbrella organization for a number of different projects, including cardiovascular projects. Maria Åberg is the main supervisor for three PhD-students and there are also three post-docs involved in these projects. The research group has considerable experience working with registry data and RCTs.
