Associate Professor David Aberg

Dr David Åberg (MD, PhD) is a senior Consultant in Internal Medicine at the stroke unit and in acute medicine at the Sahlgrenska University Hospital, Gothenburg, Sweden. David completed a medical degree in 1995 and a preclinical Phd program in neurobiology in 1996-2001. David received a medical license (2003) and a 50% resident research position (2003-2009). David was appointed as a specialist physician in internal medicine (2010), an associate professor (2010), and as a senior consultant (2015). David has pursued experimental neuroendocrine neurobiology research in parallel to a more recent interest in clinical stroke and cardiovascular epidemiology, focused on life-style factors. David has had one doctoral student completing a thesis (Marion Walser, 2017). David was awarded a position of “higher clinical research position” from 2016 until present. David now has Marion Walser a part-time post-doc, and two registered doctoral students (Olof Anger, 2017 and Alexander Wall, 2018).
