Professor Osama A Rifaie has been a distinguished active professor of cardiology at Ain Shams university , Cairo ,Egypt since 1997. His main interest is interventional cardiology and structural heart disease.He undertook a pioneering work in the field of balloon mitral valvotomy in Africa and presented a novel echoscore for outcome prediction of BMV in 2009 .He presented over 70 research articles and abstracts in peer reviewed journals and international conferences in this field as well as in rheumatic heart disease. His abstract was awarded as best of 5 in structural heart disease in TcT2006 as well as the best middle east abstract in ACC 2013 .Moreover he is considered a distinguished nation wide teacher and researcher.He also publeshed 2 books in clinical cardiology and ECG
