Dr. David O. Arnar has an MD from the University of Iceland. He also holds a PhD from the University of Iceland and an Executive Master of Public Health degree from Reykjavik University. Dr. Arnar completed a residency in Internal Medicine and fellowships in Cardiology and Cardiac Electrophysiology at The University of Iowa Hospital and Clinics in the United States. He has completed the American Board of Internal Medicine exams in internal medicine and cardiology. Dr. Arnar is currently the Chief of Cardiology at Landspitali – The National University Hospital in Reykjavik, Iceland and is a Professor at the Faculty of Medicine, School of Health Sciences, University of Iceland. He is a consultant to deCODE genetics. His research interests include the genetics of arrhythmias, precision medicine and the effects of atrial fibrillation on central nervous system structure and function. Dr. Arnar is the President of the Icelandic Society of Internal Medicine.
