Biography
Dr. Paul Calin Craciun is a cardiologist in training at the “Prof. Dr. C.C. Iliescu” Emergency Institute for Cardiovascular Diseases in Bucharest, Romania, where he began his residency in 2022. His clinical and research interests centre on cardiovascular imaging and transcatheter structural heart interventions, with a particular focus on the tricuspid valve.
Since October 2025 he has been a research fellow at the Echocardiography CoreLab of CHU Rennes, France, under the supervision of Prof. Erwan Donal, where he has worked on imaging guidance for mitral and tricuspid transcatheter edge-to-edge repair, advanced echocardiographic analysis (3D imaging and strain) and AI-assisted echocardiography. His fellowship was supported by a training grant from the Romanian Society of Cardiology.
