Dr. Katz is a tenured associate professor of medicine at Duke University. He is the director of cardiovascular critical care for the Duke University Health System and for the Duke Heart Center. He is also co-director of the Duke Cardiac Intensive Care Unit and the Mechanical Circulatory Support Program. Dr. Katz is board-certified in Cardiovascular Medicine, Critical Care Medicine, and Advanced Heart Failure & Cardiac Transplantation. He is passionate about optimizing care delivery for patients with critical illness, improving integration among surgical and medical cardiovascular care teams, leveraging multidisciplinary collaboration for cardiogenic shock management, and enhancing operational efficiency in the contemporary cardiovascular ICU.
