Mr Fergus Sully

Baker Heart and Diabetes Institute, Melbourne (Australia)

Fergus completed studies in Exercise and Sports Science at Deakin University (Melbourne), majoring in Exercise Physiology before continuing on to complete Honours in Sports Cardiology. His main area of interest is cardiac remodelling and adaptations as a result of exercise training, and the way this may interact with future development of arrhythmias or other cardiac conditions. This work is currently undertaken in the Sports Cardiology lab at Baker Heart and Diabetes Institute in Melbourne, headed up by A/Prof Andre La Gerche. Main testing modalities used for the clinical research conducted in the lab include ECG (rest and exercise), Cardiopulmonary Exercise Testing (CPET), Transthoracic Echocardiogram (rest and exercise), and Cardiac MRI (rest and exercise).
