Dr Ioannis Doundoulakis (MD, MSc, PhD, FEHRA) is an electrophysiologist in the UZ Brussels at Vrije University. His training includes a Master of Science in Biostatistics and an EP fellowship in the UZ Brussels at Vrije University. In 2024, the European Heart Rhythm Association recognized the title 'Fellow of the European Heart Rhythm Association' (FEHRA) as an honorary recognition of status for Dr Doundoulakis.His research has focused on improving methods of risk stratification of sudden cardiac death. His work helped developing structured approaches and risk stratification models for patients with unexplained syncope and post myocardial infarction patients.
