Professor of Medicine, University Hospitals Leuven, KU Leuven – University of Leuven, Leuven, Belgium Greet Van den Berghe is currently head of the Department & Laboratory of Intensive Care Medicine at the KU Leuven – University of Leuven, Belgium. This intensive care unit is a large (67 beds) tertiary center treating over 3200 patients per year, adults as well as children. She is also full Professor of Medicine at the KU Leuven and has been running an active research program on the endocrinology of critical illness since 1995. She published 427 papers in peer-reviewed journals (H-index: 76), and has authored many chapters in international textbooks on intensive care and endocrinology. She has been an invited speaker at numerous scientific meetings worldwide. She is currently holder of a personal “advanced” grant from the Horizon 2020 Program of the EU and a Methusalem grant from the Flemish Government in Belgium.
