Michiel Voskuil was born in Amsterdam, Netherlands, in 1973 and studied medicine in the same city. He did his PhD at the Cardiology department of the Amsterdam University Medical Center (A-UMC; dissertation 2003). He subsequently also did his fellowship in interventional cardiology at the A-UMC. Since 2010, he has worked as a staff member of interventional cardiology at the University Medical Center Utrecht (UMCU). In addition to percutaneous coronary interventions, his focus is mainly on percutaneous interventions in (congenital and acquired) structural heart disease. Since 2019 he has been appointed as full professor at the UMCU. He is also past-president of the board of the interventional cardiology working group (WIC) and president of the board of the Science & Innovation (W&I) committee of the Netherlands Society of Cardiology (NVVC).
