Member of:

European Society of Cardiology

Simon Kraler, M.D. Ph.D. FESC graduated from the medical school of Graz with highest honours after pursuing clinical rotations in Europe and the US, followed by a Ph.D. at the University of Zurich. For his engagement in teaching and research, he has received notable awards, including the Ars Docendi and the Research Prize of the Swiss Society of Cardiology. His research aims at personalising the management of patients with acute coronary syndromes (ACS), for which the identification of targets/biomarkers beyond inflammation and lipids is imperative. He was centrally involved in the identification of novel biomarkers and the development of refined risk prediction models, including the GRACE 3.0 and the modified GRACE risk score. In his translational undertakings, Simon uses multi-omics and clinically relevant models to study atherosclerosis and its acute clinical sequelae, including ACS. Simon is part of the Editorial Board of the EHJ and serves as an Editor of the EJCI.
