Born 1968, Germany; University education in Frankfurt/M (Germany) and Pretoria (South Africa) 1990 - 1996. Current position: Professor of Internal Medicine and Vice-Director Cardiology Department SRH-Waldklinikum Gera since 2020. Board certified specialist in emergency medicine, interventional cardiology (DGK), lipidology (DGFF), heart failure (DGK), hypertension (DHL) and heart rhythm device implantation (DGK). Fields of interest/research: Interventional Cardiology – Structural Heart Disease – Heart Rhythm Device implantation – Inflammatory Cardiomyopathy. >110 published papers in peer-reviewed national/international journals (cumulative IF: 544.5 [2022-08]) including European Heart Journal, Lancet, JACC, JACC interventions, Circulation interventions, Europace, International Journal of Cardiology. Member of the Editorial Board of the Journal of Geriatric Cardiology.
