Biography
Dr. Borek Foldyna is a cardiovascular radiologist at Massachusetts General Hospital and Assistant Professor of Radiology at Harvard Medical School. He serves as Director of Operations of the Cardiovascular Imaging Research Center and Director of the MGH Metabolic Imaging Core. His clinical expertise focuses on cardiovascular CT and MRI, with particular emphasis on coronary plaque imaging, valvular heart disease, and congenital heart disease.
Dr. Foldyna’s research applies advanced cardiovascular imaging to improve risk stratification at the population and patient level. His work focuses on coronary atherosclerosis, quantitative plaque assessment, epicardial and pericoronary adipose tissue, and imaging biomarkers of cardiovascular inflammation and risk. He has contributed to major clinical and epidemiologic studies, including PROMISE, the Framingham Heart Study, the National Lung Screening Trial, and REPRIEVE.
