Biography
Mariam Elmegaard, MD, PhD, is a physician and cardiovascular researcher at Copenhagen University Hospital – Herlev and Gentofte and the University of Copenhagen, Denmark. She obtained her PhD in cardiovascular epidemiology from the University of Copenhagen in 2026. Her research focuses on heart failure, cardiovascular epidemiology, clinical trials, implementation science, and equity in health, with particular emphasis on translating evidence-based cardiovascular therapies into routine clinical practice. She has a strong interest in digital and registry-based strategies to improve treatment uptake and reduce inequalities in access to cardiovascular care.
