Dr. Michael Chiang received his Cardiology training in Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Hong Kong. He underwent structural heart disease and advanced hemodynamic support training in Henry Ford Hospital, USA. He is currently an Associate Consultant in Queen Elizabeth Hospital.
His special interest are complex coronary intervention, as pioneer for Orbital-Tripsy technique; advanced mechanical circulatory support(MCS), as inventor of TransCaval LAVA-ECMO, others including LAVA-ECMO and TransCaval MCS; complex structural interventions including TransCaval TAVR with >60 Transcaval access experience, BASILICA, etc.
He was the first to perform LAVA-ECMO and native valve BASILICA in Asia
He also published extensively in high impact factor journals including JACC, JACC intervention, etc
