Amitai graduated with a medical degree from the Hebrew University in Jerusalem, Israel. He successfully completed internal medicine and cardiology residencies at the Sheba Medical Center in Israel, both with outstanding achievements (cum laude). Currently, he serves as a senior cardiologist in the cardiology department of Sheba Medical Center, while also practicing as a physician in ambulatory heart failure clinics and a specialized clinic for pericardial and myocardial diseases. Additionally, Amitai is the Chairperson of the Israeli forum for the cardiologists of tomorrow at the Israel Heart Society and the National HFA young ambassador. His research interests encompass acute and chronic heart failure, diuretic strategies, cardiomyopathies, myocarditis, and frailty.
