Dr. Thompson is currently the President of the American Society of Nuclear Cardiology. He is also an Attending Cardiologist, St. Luke’s Mid America Heart Institute in Kansas City, Missouri and Professor of Medicine, The University of Missouri – Kansas City. Dr Thompson served for the previous 4 years on the ASNC Executive Council and 8 years previously on the ASNC Board of Directors as well as numerous ASNC committees including Scientific Program Chair in 2016 He is a member of the editorial board and Guest Editor of the Journal of Nuclear Cardiology. Dr. Thompson has been involved in advocacy for ASNC and the American College of Cardiology for many years, especially in the areas of coding and billing and is Chair of the ACC Coding Task Force.
