Professor Geu-Ru Hong

Dr Geu-Ru Hong is a Professor at the division of Cardiology of Yonsei University, College of Medicine in Seoul, Korea. Dr Hong graduated from the Yeungnam University Medical College, Daegu, Korea in 1992 as a medical doctor. He obtained a Ph.D, in Doctor of Medicine (Cardiovascular Medicine) from Yeungnam University in 2002. Dr Hong has a sub-speciality board certification in cardiology. He was a post-doctoral as a researcher in Ohio State University, Columbus, in the USA. He was a clinical research fellow at the University of California, Irvine, CA, in the USA. Perviously, Dr Hong was appointed the Associate Professor of Medicine at the Yeungnam University at Daegu from 2010-2012. Since 2012, he is the Professor at the Yonsei University. His research has been focused on cardiac imaging using echocardiography including contrast, 3D and stress echocardiography, valvular heart disease, cardiomyopathies including hypertrophic and Fabry cardiomyopathy, and structural heart intervention.
