Professor Martin Koehrmann

Martin Köhrmann is the Deputy Chairman at the Dept. of Neurology in Essen, Germany. He is the Head of the Essen Neurovascular Unit including the Emergency room, Stroke and Intermediate Care Unit, the Neurological Ultrasound Laboratory and Clinical Stroke Research. He spent time doing research at Duke Medical Center, Columbia University as well as the Harvard Medical School in Boston. Martin Köhrmann has authored or co-authored more than 180 PubMed listed articles, many book chapters and is the editor of a book on Stroke Unit Care. His main research-interests are stroke prevention and treatment, neuro-intensive care and neurovascular ultrasound. He is the chair of the German Neurological Ultrasound Society and a member and medical auditor for the German Stroke Society. He received several high ranked awards in
