Associate Professor Fernando Ribeiro

FR holds a degree in Physiotherapy, an MSc in Sport Sciences, a PhD in Physical Activity and Health, with a postdoc specializing in clinical exercise and cardiac rehabilitation. FR is a Coordinator Professor with Habilitation at the University of Aveiro and Principal Investigator at the Institute of Biomedicine, Portugal. He serves as the Director of the Degree in Physiotherapy and the Deputy-Director of the PhD Program in Rehabilitation Sciences. His research focuses on cardiac rehabilitation, endothelial function and inflammation. FR has led various research projects, including clinical trials in cardiac rehabilitation (CAD, HF, PAD), cardio-oncology, and (resistant) hypertension. He has published over 140 papers, 11 book chapters, and has supervised over 40 MSc and PhD students. Additionally, he contributes as a reviewer, associated editor/editorial board member for several journals, and serves as a grant proposal evaluator for several national and international funding agencies.
