Manuel Bicho,MD,PhD is medical doctor(1975) by University of Lisbon Faculty of Medicine,after 5 years of clinical practice in Lisbon Hospitals and at Periphery in Algarve and Ambulatory in Oeiras. Initiates its work for PhD in the area of Biochemical Endocrinology(Catecholamines-Clinical and Experimental Study) that completes in 1985.In the same year was appointed as Assistant Professor of Genetics(founder) became Associated professor in 1990 and Full Professor in 2004 and retired of academic duties in 2021.During its sabatical in Boston, Harvard Medical School and Endocrinology Hypertension ,Diabetes Division (Gordon Williams) was appointed as Associated visiting Professor. Its main areas of research are : Ecogenetics of cardiovascular diseases,obesity and diabetes;Ecogenetics of cancer;Ecogenetics of behaviour and mental diseases,Ecogenetics of preconceptional and prenatal periods(DOHaD). Speakes Portuguese,Spanish,English and French.
