Monika Gawałko, MD, PhD is a cardiology and EP fellow in the Medical University of Warsaw (Poland). She is the member of ESC Social Media Editorial team and EAPC Young Ambassador. She underwent fellowships in Maastricht University Medical Centre (the Netherlands), Department of Biomedical Sciences, University of Copenhagen (Denmark) and Institute of Pharmacology, University Duisburg-Essen (Germany,). Her research focus on 1) mobile health solutions, 2) lifestyle risk factors (obesity, nutrition), 3) anticoagulation, 4) heart rhythm/rate control treatment and 5) mechanisms (paracrine effect of the pericardial adipose tissue, NLRP3 inflammasome and gut microbiome) of atrial fibrillation.
