Ralf Kaiser studied at Jena and Heidelberg (Germany) and finished his thesis in experimental Cardiology. The following seven years he specialised in internal medicine / Cardiology at Frankfurt a.M. and Homburg / Saar University Hospital. Aside from patient care he performed experimental studies on cardiac stem cells and adhesion molecules. His main research topic was hypoxia in endothelial cells. After board examination on Internal Medicine, he spent two years in clinical research on pulmonary hypertension with several publications on biomarkers. He then continued clinical medicine in intensive care and pulmonology. He received specialised training in extracorporal circuits and was board certified for both intensive care and pulmonology in 2016. Now he focussed his research on physiology of the right ventricle, haemodynamics, echocardiography / MRT and exercise physiology.
