Doctor Michael Reardon

Dr. Reardon did his general surgery training under Dr. Michael E. DeBakey and his cardiac surgery training under Dr. Denton A. Cooley. He has been on the faculty of the Houston Methodist Hospital since 1985. He has previously served as chief of cardiothoracic surgery at Baylor College of Medicine and chief of cardiac surgery at the Houston Methodist DeBakey Heart & Vascular Center. He is currently professor of cardiothoracic surgery and Allison Family Distinguished Chair of Cardiovascular Research at the Houston Methodist Hospital. He has leadership roles in a number of research trials including serving as the national/international surgical PI for SURTAVI, Evolut Low Risk, Reprise III, Acurate and Portico NG TAVR trials. He is study chair for the Evolut low risk bicuspid trial and Reprise IV. He has an active interested in cardiac tumors and an experience of over 400 cases. He maintains an appointment in both the department of cardiovascular surgery as well as cardiology.
