Mr Filippo Piatti

Building 20, Milan Polytechnic, Milan (Italy)

IFilippo Piatti is young post-doctoral research fellow at the 3D and Computer Simulation Laboratory of I.R.C.C.S. Policlinico San Donato. He obtained his PhD in Bioengineering in the Biomechanics Group, and the Master and Bachelor degrees in Biomedical Engineering at Politecnico di Milano. His academic background is in numerical methods and computational techniques for the analysis of blood fluid dynamics. During his academic track, he focused on the biomechanical modeling of blood damage related to the implantation of artificial devices, as well as on the evaluation of hemo-dynamic alterations induced by the progression of cardiovascular pathologies. During the last years, he worked in the field of magnetic resonance imaging, focusing on the implementation of numerical methods to measure clinically relevant biomechanical markers of cardiovascular pathologies related to blood flow alterations.
