Bernardo Cortese, MD, FESC, FSCAI, is an Italian interventional cardiologist specialized in the diagnosis and treatment of complex coronary artery disease and chronic total occlusions. He is Interventional Director of the Coronary Center at University Hospitals Harrington Heart & Vascular Institute and Professor of Medicine at Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine.
Prof. Cortese earned his medical degree from the University of Pisa in Pisa, Italy. He then completed a cardiology fellowship at the University of Pisa followed by a structural interventional cardiology master program at Sant’Anna University in Pisa, Italy. Dr. Cortese has steadily honed his skills as an interventional cardiologist with numerous advanced certifications in carotid, coronary, peripheral artery, and structural heart techniques.
