Professor Alta Schutte

Alta (Aletta E.) Schutte is Professor of Cardiovascular Medicine at the University of New South Wales, Sydney, Australia; and Co-Director of the Global Cardiovascular Program at the George Institute for Global Health, Sydney. She has extensive experience in working in clinical trials and population health in hypertension and cardiovascular disease with over 580 publications in the field. She has a keen interest in all initiatives that will contribute to improving blood pressure control globally. She serves as Associate Editor of the AHA Journal, Hypertension. She is a Fellow of the European Society of Cardiology (FESC), the International Society of Hypertension (ISHF), the Royal Society of South Africa (RSSAf) and the Australian Academy of Health and Medical Sciences (FAHMS); the Past President of the Southern African Hypertension Society (SAHS); Co-Chair of the National Hypertension Taskforce of Australia, and Past President of the International Society of Hypertension.
