Nadia Mercader Huber is Full Professor at the Institute of Anatomy, University of Bern. She studied Biology at ETH (Zurich, Switzerland) and obtained her PhD in Molecular Biology by the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid (Spain) in 2003. After her PhD, she moved to the EMBL (Heidelberg, Germany), as a postdoctoral researcher. In 2007, she joined the CNIC (Madrid, Spain) as a group leader until 2015. Her research deals with the understanding of the cellular and molecular mechanisms of cardiac development and regeneration using the zebrafish model organism. She obtained funding from ERC (Starting grant and Consolidator grant) and was awarded with a Max Cloetta Prize in 2020. In 2021 she was appointed individual member of the Swiss Academy of Medical Sciences.
