Biography
Dr. Dent is a medical oncologist at the Duke Cancer Institute, Duke University, who specializes in breast cancer. She has a strong interest on the impact of cancer treatments on cardiovascular health. She is the founder and past-president of the Canadian Cardio-Oncology Network (CCON ). She has promoted a multidisciplinary approach to the care of cancer patients with cancer treatment related cardiac dysfunction , as well as education of patients and health care providers. She has contributed to a number of position statements and guidelines in cardio-oncology including the American Society of Clinical Oncology(ASCO), Canadian Cardiovascular Society (CCS), American Heart Association (AHA) and the European Society of Medical Oncology (ESMO). She currently serves as the Vice-President of the International Cardio-Oncology Society (ICOS) and Co-Director of the Cardio-Oncology Program at Duke University, Durham, North Carolina USA.
