Professor Dan Augustine is a consultant cardiologist practicing in Bath, UK. He qualified in 2002 from St Bartholomew’s and the Royal London Medical School and completed cardiology training in the South West of England. He has undertaken a cardiovascular imaging research fellowship at the University of Oxford and gained a MD. He has specialist interest in imaging (echocardiography and cardiac MRI), sports cardiology, pulmonary hypertension and cardio-oncology. Dan has held several national positions within the UK including President of the British Society of Echocardiography (2023). Dan is the Editor of cardiology text books including the Oxford handbook of Echocardiography and the European textbooks in core cardiology (OUP, 2024). Dan enjoys supervising PhD and MSc students. Research interests: Novel markers to improve the detection of cardiovascular disease; echocardiography in the detection of pulmonary hypertension; wearable technology in cardiac rehab; the footballers heart.
