He is Director of the Cardiac Catheterization and Intervention Department and Professor at the Division of Cardiology at the Severance Cardiovascular Hospital, Yonsei University, Seoul, South Korea. He is board-certified in internal medicine and cardiology and received his PhD in cardiology at Yonsei University, Seoul, South Korea in 2007 and subsequently gained a postdoctoral fellowship in invasive coronary imaging at Stanford University Medical Center, CA, USA. His research interests include dual antiplatelet therapy duration strategy, chronic total occlusion (CTO) percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI), image-guided (IVUS or OCT) complex lesion PCI, and catheter-based renal denervation. He also focuses on invasive coronary imaging, particularly intravascular ultrasound and optical coherence tomographic evaluation following drug-eluting stent implantation.
