Dr Jonathan Batty, BSc(Hons) MBChB(Hons) MPH MRCP(UK) DGM, is a Cardiology Registrar in the North East. He graduated with an intercalated degree from the University of Leeds in 2012, sponsored by the Wolfson Foundation. He was funded by Heart Research UK to undertake research in cardiovascular genetics, completed a research elective at Harvard University, and was awarded his medical degree with honours. After graduation, he completed a cardiology-themed Academic Foundation Program at Newcastle University, the Royal Victoria Infirmary and the Freeman Hospital. He was awarded a Knox Memorial Fellowship by Harvard University, enabling him to undertake a Master of Public Health (MPH) degree, with a concentration in Quantative Methods (Biostatistics and Epidemiology). He completed Core Medical Training in the West Midlands, gaining MRCP(UK) and the Diploma in Geriatric Medicine (DGM). He hopes to pursue a combined clinical-academic career in complex coronary and structural intervention.
