Dr. Javier Limeres Freire has a degree in medicine and surgery from the University of Santiago de Compostela (Spain). He completed his medical training specializing in cardiology, and subsequently completed his training with a subspecialization in hereditary heart disease and cardiogenetics. He works in the Family Cardiopathies Unit and in the Cardiogenetics Unit of the Hospital Vall d'Hebron and he is a professor of undergraduate and postgraduate degrees in cardiogenetics. He is a member of several national and international scientific societies, and is currently part of the board of directors of the Family Cardiopathies and Cardiogenetics Working Group of the Spanish Society of Cardiology. He carries out his research in the area of myocardiomyopathies and is a member of the cardiovascular research network in cardiogenetics (CIBER-CV).
