Dr. Bert Vandenberk is an Assistant Professor in Cardiovascular Sciences at KU Leuven (BE) and a clinical cardiac electrophysiologist at UZ Leuven (BE). He pursued advanced studies at KU Leuven, completing a Ph.D. on ventricular arrhythmias and sudden cardiac death. His training included fellowships at UZ Leuven and the University of Calgary's Libin Cardiovascular Institute (CA). During these fellowships, he excelled in teaching, received recognition for excellence in teaching, and contributed significantly to academic publications. He completed the Global Clinical Scholars Research Training program at Harvard Medical School, earned the LB Mitchell Fellow Research Award for his outstanding contributions. Since returning to KU Leuven and UZ Leuven, he balances clinical practice with academia, focusing on catheter ablation and management of arrhythmias in patients with adult congenital heart disease.
