Biography
I am a cardiac electrophysiologist and assistant professor of Cardiology at the Division of Cardiology, St. Andrea Hospital, Sapienza University, Rome. My research focus is on sudden death and cardiomyopathies. My scientific journey started with a fascination for vascular biology at the Cardiovascular Research Centre of the University of Zurich (2002-2003), under the guidance of Prof. Thomas Luscher, focusing on the p66Shc signaling pathway. My career took a pivotal turn when I joined the Electrophysiology Centre of I.R.C.C.S San Donato in Milan (2006-2007) under Dr. Riccardo Cappato. I contributed to catheter ablation of AF and sudden cardiac death research. In 2022, I had a transformative experience spending 12 months at the Teknon Institute in Barcelona, under Dr. Antonio Berruezo's guidance. I engaged in clinical and research activities including ventricular arrhythmias in hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, AF ablation using left atrial wall thickness guidance, and cardioneuroablation.
