Borut Jug is a cardiovascular disease specialist and associate professor of medicine at the University Medical Centre in Ljubljana, Slovenia; he currently heads its Preventive cardiology and cardiac rehabilitation services and serves as the co-chair of the working group for preventive cardiology of the Slovenian Society of Cardiology. His professional and research interests focus on cardiovascular disease prevention, cardiac rehabilitation, atherosclerotic vascular disease, chronic heart failure, and quality and outcomes research.
