Justas Simonavicius graduated from Lithuanian university of health sciences and was awarded a Master’s degree of Medicine in 2014. He continued his cardiologist training at Vilnius university and gained a cardiologist qualification in 2018. He did his PhD research at Maastricht university where he successfully defended his PhD thesis entitled ‘The relationship between the use of loop diuretics, congestion and heart failure outcome: in search of novel tools of congestion detection and grading’ in 2022. His research interest is acute and chronic heart failure and fluid accumulation in the context of a failing heart. Among other relevant clinical research questions Justas is particularly interested in diuretic treatment approaches and cardiorenal interactions. Justas Simonavicius is currently working as a post-doctoral researcher at Cardiovascular research institute of Basel. Justas speaks Lithuanian, English and German.
