Mr Enrique Perez de la Sota

Dr. Pérez de la Sota graduated in Medicine and Surgery with Honors Degree from the University of Salamanca and completed his training as a specialist in Cardiovascular Surgery at the Fundación Jiménez Díaz in Madrid. He joined the Cardiac Surgery Service of the Hospital Universitario 12 de Octubre in 1994, since then developing his clinical and teaching work there as a staff surgeon and Senior Consultant today. He has experience in all aspects of adult cardiac surgery, with a special clinical interest in heart transplantation and mechanical circulatory support (ECMO and ventricular assist devices). He coordinates the surgical group of the hospital's Advanced Heart Failure Unit. Dr. Pérez de la Sota is Associate Professor of Surgery (Cardiac Surgery) at the Faculty of Medicine of the Universidad Complutense of Madrid since the 2006-2007 academic year. He is a reviewer for Cirugía Cardiovascular (Spanish), Journal of Cardiac Surgery and Asian Cardiovascular and Thoracic Annals.
