Miss Maria Paton, MSc, is an advanced clinical cardiac scientist and holds a National Institute for Health Research doctoral award at the University of Leeds, UK. She has a specialist interest in device therapy and echocardiographic imaging. She has a regional and national profile as a non-medical clinical researcher.
Miss Paton received her current fellowship in 2017 and has focussed on investigating the progression of cardiac impairment in bradycardia pacemaker patients and potential preventative interventions. She currently holds honorary positions at Leeds Teaching Hospitals Trust, UK and Harrogate District Hospital, UK and sits on the training and education committee for the British Society of Echocardiography.
