Biography
Davide Castagno, MD, PhD, is Associate Professor of Cardiology at the University of Turin (since 2020) and Staff Cardiologist and Electrophysiologist at the "Città della Salute e della Scienza" Hospital, Turin (since 2012), specializing in interventional electrophysiology, cardiac pacing and implantable defibrillators. He earned his MD with honours in 2005 and his PhD in Experimental Medicine and Therapy in 2015, both from the University of Turin, and holds a Diploma of Advanced Studies in Cardiac Arrhythmia Management (DAS-CAM, 2023) from Maastricht University. Early in his career, he was a Clinical Research Fellow at the BHF Glasgow Cardiovascular Research Centre, University of Glasgow, under Professor John J.V. McMurray, then continued his research at Brigham and Women's Hospital, Harvard Medical School. His research spans atrial fibrillation, ventricular arrhythmias and heart failure. He also has a keen interest in medical humanities and doctor-patient communication.
