Born in A Coruña, Spain, in 1986, he studied Medicine in Santiago de Compostela. He moved to Barcelona during his residency in Cardiology in Hospital de Sant Pau. During these years, he discovered his passion for the acutely ill patient in the Acute Cardiovascular Care under Dr. Sionis' supervision. In 2016, he was awarded with one of the ESC Clinical Training Grants and moved to Hôpital La Pitié-Salpêtrière, Paris, for almost a year, where he got in contact with Dr. Combes and Dr. Schmidt, with whom he underwent multiple research projects in cardiogenic shock, VA-ECMO and myocarditis. Currently, he performs at the Hospital Germans Trias i Pujol, Badalona. He is currently investigating mechanical ventilation and their effects in VA-ECMO patients, as well as the inflammatory pathways in cardiogenic shock. Apart from Cardiology, he loves reading, travelling, and music. During his leasure time, he plays the violin in an universitary orchestra in Barcelona.
