Fielder is currently a Clinical Research Fellow at the University of Oxford (United Kingdom) where he is undertaking a DPhil in the Nuffield Department of Population Health. He is also an honorary cardiology registrar at the Royal Berkshire Hospital (Reading, United Kingdom). His clinical interests are in electrophysiology. His research interests relate primarily to arrhythmias and encompass the use of big data as well as online resources for patient and healthcare professional education.
