Currently, Shehab Anwer is a postdoctoral research fellow in the echocardiography lab of Zurich University Heart Centre, and member of the EACVI Web & Comm Committee.
He has graduated with honours from School of Medicine, Ain Shams University (Egypt) in 2011. He started his training in cardiac surgery, and cardiovascular medicine at National Heart Institute (Egypt) in the Endocarditis unit; then served as a clinical research fellow in hereditary cardiomyopathies, and research data manager at Magdi Yacoub Heart Foundation (Egypt).
Additionally, he has been serving as a 'Medical Needs Assessment' physician at the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR); and as an emerging editorial consultant at the ‘Journal of American College of Cardiology: Cardiovascular Imaging’.
His main post-graduate interests focus on inherited cardiomyopathies, echocardiography, research methodology, health information technology, valvular heart disease, endocarditis, and rheumatic heart disease.
