Massimo Volpe is Professor of Cardiology and Chairman of Cardiology at the Specialty School of Cardiology, University of Rome “Sapienza”. He is Chief of the Cardiology Division, Department of Cardiovascular and Respiratory Science, and Hypertension Unit at Sant’Andrea Hospital, Rome, Italy. He is also Past-Dean of the Faculty of Medicine and Psychology, University of Rome Sapienza.
Professor Volpe’s primary research interests are neurohormonal control of circulation and cardiovascular abnormalities in hypertension and heart failure. He is a member of Italian and International Societies, a Fellow of AHA (High Blood Pressure Council), and ESC, and a Hypertension Specialist of ESH. He has served as President of the Italian Society of Hypertension, Italian Society of Cardiovascular Prevention and Italian College of Cardiology.
He has authored about 800 publications on peer-reviewed journals (H-index:75) . He is in the Editorial Board of leading journals, including EHJ.
