Laura L Hayman is Professor of Nursing at UMass Boston and Adjunct Professor of Medicine, Department of Population and Quantitative Health Sciences, Division of Behavioral and Preventive Medicine, UMass Medical School. Her clinical, community-based and translation research has focused on prevention of obesity and risk for cardiometabolic conditions in children, adolescents, emerging adults and families from diverse populations. Dr Hayman holds fellowships in the American Heart Association (AHA), Society of Behavioral Medicine (SBM), Academy of Behavioral Medicine Research, Academy of Nursing and the Preventive Cardiovascular Nurses Association (PCNA). She continues to serve in leadership roles in AHA, SBM and PCNA where she chairs the international committee and champions the Global Cardiovascular Nursing Leadership Forum. Dr Hayman's ~ 175 publications in nursing and interdisciplinary venues emanate from her research and clinical/public health practice .
