Biography
Dr. Panteleimon Papakonstantinou, MD, MSc, PhD, FEHRA, FESC is a consultant cardiologist and electrophysiologist at Laiko General Hospital, Athens, Greece. He completed advanced electrophysiology fellowship at Mater Private Hospital and the Cardiovascular Research Institute Dublin, in collaboration with RCSI University of Medicine and Health Sciences, Ireland. He graduated from the University of Crete, completed cardiology residency at Evangelismos Hospital, Athens, and earned his PhD and completed postdoctoral research at the Medical Schools of the University of Crete and the University of Athens. His clinical and research interests focus on catheter ablation of cardiac arrhythmias, particularly atrial fibrillation, stroke prevention, and anticoagulation. He is a member of the editorial boards of EJPC and EHJ-CR. He is Chair-elect of the EAPC Primary Care and Risk Factors Management Section and Co-Chair of the Education and Scientific Programme Committee of the ESC Council on Stroke.
