Dr. Ahmet Demirkiran, Cardiologist, Cardiac MR expert, is currently involved as a researcher in the Cardiac MR and CT field at Amsterdam University Medical Centers. His research centers on myocardial tissue characterisation after myocardial infarction and intra-cardiac 4D flow Cardiac MR. In 2020, he received the prestigious EACVI Research Grant, and his academic work has appeared in several leading journals including European Heart Journal - Cardiovascular Imaging and Cardiovascular Interventions. He is a member of the EACVI Scientific Initiatives Committee and the SCMR Translations Committee.
Dr. Demirkiran received his medical degree from Istanbul University, Istanbul Faculty of Medicine in 2010, and at the same institution, he gained his cardiologist degree in 2016. Thereafter, he completed his 2-years of Cardiac MR fellowship program at Amsterdam UMC and earned level 3 of EACVI Cardiac MR competency in 2018.
