Biography
Assoc. Prof. Ahmet Demirkıran, MD, PhD, FESC, FEACVI, FSCMR, is a cardiologist specialising in multimodality cardiovascular imaging, particularly cardiovascular magnetic resonance (CMR) and cardiac CT. He completed his cardiology training at Istanbul University and a CMR/CT fellowship at Amsterdam UMC, where he subsequently obtained his PhD in cardiovascular magnetic resonance. He holds EACVI Level 3 certification in CMR and is a recipient of an EACVI Research Grant. His research focuses on myocardial tissue characterisation following myocardial infarction and intracardiac 4D flow assessment. He currently serves as a member of the EACVI Scientific Initiatives Committee, Vice-Chair of the SCMR Translations Committee, and a Board Member of the Turkish Society of Cardiology Working Group on Cardiac Imaging.
