Biography
Ahmet Demirkiran, MD, PhD is a cardiologist and multimodality cardiac imaging expert (Cardiac MRI and CT). He conducts clinical research, with a focus on myocardial tissue characterisation after myocardial infarction and intra-cardiac 4D flow assessment using Cardiac MRI. Dr. Demirkiran was awarded the prestigious EACVI Research Grant for his innovative research and earned his PhD in Cardiac MRI from Amsterdam UMC. His academic work has been published in leading journals including European Heart Journal and Circulation. He serves as vice-chair of the the SCMR Translations Committee and member of the EACVI Scientific Initiatives Committee. Dr. Demirkiran earned his medical and cardiologist degrees from Istanbul University, Istanbul Faculty of Medicine. He completed a 2-year fellowship program in Cardiac MRI/CT at Amsterdam UMC, achieving level 3 of EACVI Cardiac MRI competency. Dr. Demirkiran is dedicated to advancing cardiac imaging and improving patient care.
