Dr. Òscar Miró got medical degree in 1989 (Univer¡sitat Autonoma de Barcelona) and PhD degree in 1999 (Universitat de Barcelona). He is specialist in Internal Medicine since 1995, and has worked in the Emergency Medicine, achieving a position in the Emergency Department (ED) of Hospital Clínic of Barcelona in 2000. Currently, he is Senior Consultant and research coordination at this department.The main research field at this moment is Acute Heart Failure (AHF), which is investigated from the perspective of emergency departments. He is one of the leaders of the EAHFE Registry that includes nearly 20,000 patients with AHF diagnosed at ED in 51 Spanish Medicine Departments. He has published more than 500 original papers, with nearly a half on the AHF field. He is the President of the Catalan Society of the Emergency Medicine since 2015, and actively participates in the reserach groups of AHF of the ACCA and HFA.
