Mrs Chiara Bartolucci

S. Orsola-Malpighi Policlinic, Bologna (Italy)

Chiara Bartolucci, PhD, postdoctoral Researcher in Biomedical Engineering at the University of Bologna, Department of Electrical, Electronic and Information Engineering "Guglielmo Marconi" - DEI - Italy. She received her Laurea degree in Mathematics in September 2011, curriculum of application, at the Mathematics Department of the University of Bologna, Italy. She obtained the PhD title in Biomedical Engineering in May 2015. Her research activity include mathematical modelling of cardiac electrophysiology, by combining clinical and experimental data with modelling and simulation, to gain new insights into the ionic mechanisms underlying cardiac arrhythmias in humans. She is currently working on human ventricular action potential models, to promote the understanding variability in cardiac response to disease, drugs or mutations to determine who, when and how cardiac patients may be at risk, and how to improve their diagnosis and treatment.
